Futura Futbol Club – History

Is there a fee for my child to play on a Futura Futbol Club team?
The team financial commitment includes (but is not limited to) club fees, training fees (including coaching and training facilities) tournaments fees (which can including tournament registration fees, lodging and the coach’s travel expenses), and other purchases made on behalf of the team. Each player is financially responsible for their share of the team’s financial commitment as well as the purchase of their personal uniform, personal equipment (shoes, ball, shin guards, mouth guard, etc) and travel/lodging expenses for out-of-town tournaments. |
Will my child be “guarenteed” playing time?
Futura teams play in both indoor and outdoor leagues, and coaches use these league games to evaluate talent and work on team concepts in preparation for tournaments. Efforts will be made to provide all players with equal playing time during league games. However, coaches can reduce playing times below the guidelines for reasons such as missing or disrupting practices, being late to practice, not notifying coaches in advance regarding absences from practices or games, being absent for more than one week from practices and games, or not following coach directions. Futura teams actively seek tournament play opportunities including the pinnacle of Missouri state soccer, the Snickers State Cup, as a way to measure individual player and team skills against other similarly talented teams. These tournaments are also great ways to maximize touches on the ball, emphasize winning over defeat, and teach sportsmanship. Tournament playing time may not be equal due to a club commitment to master these challenges. The coaches will decide, in the context of the tournament game, which players will play and for how long. Coaches will take into consideration the strength of the opposing team, the importance of the game, the relative strengths of the players, and the players’ attendance and dedication at practice and games. If a parent feels he or she must discuss playing time with the manager or coach, this must be done at a scheduled meeting so that everyone has time to think clearly about the child’s needs and the team’s situation. |
